International Granting

NPT offers four options for international philanthropy. Donors may recommend grants: 1.)To U.S.-based charities with a global mission 2.)To intermediary charities 3.)Directly to a charitable organization outside the United States via Equivalency Determination (ED) 4.)Directly to a charitable organization outside the United States via Expenditure Responsibility (ER)

Accepts Illiquid Contributions

NPT accepts the widest range of assets of any charitable organization. These include: cash, publicly traded securities (including stocks, bonds, and mutal fund shares), restricted and controlled stock, privately-held stock, real estate, proceeds from life insurance, private foundation grants or terminations, bequests amd testamentary gifts, remainder interest from a charitable remainder trust, various retirement account assets, tangible personal property, and cryptocurrency.

3rd Party Advisors

Your DAF may have multiple secondary advisors which may be given authority to recommend both grants and investment allocations. You may also assign a financial advisor or other investment professional. Financial advisors may have read-only access to view account activity or full access to recommend new investments and grants.

NPT is independent of any religious or political organizations.

Tax Requirements

There is no tax code requirement for DAF donors to meet a minimum payout requirement.

Minimum Grant Frequency

A grant must be made at least every 3 years.

Overall Grant Restrictions

NPT will not approve grants to individuals, private non-operating foundations, or non-functionally integrated Type III supporting organizations. Other restrictions may apply.

Provides Anonymity

NPT encloses a grant letter to the recipient charitable organization that indicates the purpose of the grant and the DAF account from which the grant was funded, unless anonymity is requested

Investment Options

NPT offers more than 10 diverse investment options that include model portfolios, money market funds, and segregated accounts.

Transferability to Another Sponsor

Assets can be transfered to another DAF sponsor that is also a 501(c)(3) charitiy.
